Association Membership Classes

Section 3 of the Constitution of the Cincinnatus Association defines four classes of membership:

Active Member
- The primary membership status, which represents the principal core of the Association and its most active, involved members.  Any individual meeting the criteria and being approved by proper action of the membership can be an Active member, but the total Active membership of the Association cannot exceed 100 individuals.

Service Roll Member - The class for members "retiring" from Active membership, but who still want to be involved in the activities of the Association.  Any 10-year Association member in good standing may request to be transferred to Service Roll, where members have all the privileges of Active members without the obligations of serving on committees or complying with attendance requirements.  Many of our Service Roll members remain actively involved in the Association's activities, leadership, panels and committees.  [Any member who has been elected and served as President of the Association is eligible for Service Roll regardless of how many years he/she has been a member.]

Honorary Member - The class for distinguished individuals recommended and elected to Honorary status by the membership.  The individual need not be a member or former member of Cincinnatus, but must have clearly distinguished himself or herself in the community or in the Association and has, as a result, been recommended for this status. While they are invited and encouraged to do so, Honorary members are under no obligation to participate in Association activities and events. Honorary members pay no annual dues, and may attend the Association's dinner meetings without charge.

Temporary Inactive Member - The class for Active members who, due to significant work or personal reasons, are temporarily unable to actively participate in the Association's activities and business. Temporary Inactive status must be approved by the Executive Committee, and must be re-approved after 12 months.  Temporary Inactive members pay no annual dues, and may attend the Association's dinner meetings by paying the effective Dinner Guest charge.
