Cincinnatus President Bill Scheyer has a new “day job”
that puts him at the forefront of efforts to encourage regional progress and
growth.
The Strategic Planning Committee has been working diligently through the summer toward a reconsideration of our Association's purposes, mechanics and effectiveness. This included a focus group, an extensive survey and a leaders' working session to craft information for the membership to now consider and discuss at the September meeting. President's Welcome Back Message
Dear Cincinnatus Members:
Welcome back for our 2009-2010 Cincinnatus year. I hope everyone had an enjoyable and productive summer. The organizational year we're about to begin should be a good one. Participation from each of you is important for the success of our organization.
Many of our Cincinnatus panels were hard at work during the summer. They will be sharing information on the results of their activities when we reconvene in September. One group, in particular, has been making excellent progress. A special committee led by members Ron Miller and Sean Rugless have been working on developing an updated strategic plan for Cincinnatus. This process began with a survey sent to all current members, many former members, and to a number of non-members with interest in the fortunes of our organization. We received an excellent response to the survey and it yielded many good ideas for consideration. The committee then analyzed all the data and identified critical themes and issues.
Our first meeting in September will be devoted to sharing these results and to engaging everyone at the meeting in the next phase of the process. The programming committee led by Melinda Kruyer has worked hard to create a meeting format that will be interesting and engaging. I'm sure that everyone will enjoy this kick-off for our new year. So, please make every effort to attend.
See you on September 8th!
