					  <title><![CDATA[Scheyer Endorses Open Letter on TNTP Report and Community Conversation]]></title>

					  <description><![CDATA[In 2009, Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS), the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers (CFT) and the Cincinnati Association of Administrators and Supervisors (CAASS) participated in a study by The New Teachers Project (TNTP) to explore policies and practices that prevent teachers from maximizing their impact on student learning.&nbsp; The results were reported in December 2009 - "<a target="_blank" href="http://www.tntp.org/publications/other_publications.html#cincy">Human Capital Reform in Cincinnati Public Schools: Strengthening Teacher Effectiveness and Support</a>" &lt;click title for Executive Summary and full text of that report&gt;<br/><br/>At their meeting on 3/16, the Executive Committee authorized Association President Bill Scheyer to add his signature to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cincinnatusassoc.org/attachments/2/100316%20TNTP%20Letter.pdf">an open letter from TNTP</a> &lt;click title to view that letter&gt; urging, ". . . the entire community to support real change that will provide every child in our community access to a superior education."&nbsp; The letter also invites everyone to a Community Conversation on the report on April 8th.&nbsp; <br/><br/>Cincinnatus members are encouraged to read this interesting and valuable information, and to take an active roll in the quality of education in Greater Cincinnati.&nbsp; [Posted 3/21/2010]<br/> ]]></description>
