Cincinnati & Forest Park City Councils Sign the GCC

On 12/10/08, on a resolution submitted by Councilmember Cecil Thomas, the City Council of Cincinnati supported the Greater Cincinnati Commitment. Likewise, on 12/15/08, the City Council of Forest Park approved a resolution supporting the Greater Cincinnati Commitment. [Posted 12/29/08]

2008-2009 Member Dues

The 2008-2009 Member Dues schedule was approved by the membership at our dinner meeting on October 14. Dues Notices were mailed later that week. Members who have not received their Dues Notice should contact Roger Smith immediately at (513) 293-4621.

Member Dinner Meeting: Birmingham Pledge

Cincinnatus Association is pleased to invite and encourage all members to join us at the November Member Dinner Meeting (5:30-8:00 on Tue., 11/11/2008 at the University Club).

The Community Inclusion Panel is proud to provide a special opportunity to listen and learn about THE BIRMINGHAM PLEDGE, a successful effort very much like our own Greater Cincinnati Commitment, started in Alabama in 1998. Birmingham Pledge Foundation founder JIM ROTCH and Executive Director WADE BLACK will provide a presentation on their efforts, obstacles and successes.

Community Inclusion Panel Chair Al DeJarnett and Association member Dorothy Battle traveled to Birmingham in September to participate in the Birmingham Pledge's 10th Anniversary Celebration. The trip was publicized by The Birmingham News.

The Excellence in Government Panel is proud to provide a special opportunity to hear about several of the upcoming BALLOT INITIATIVES, including a discussion forum on BALLOT ISSUE NO. 8 - PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION with JEFF BERDING (Cincinnati City Council) and BILL WOODS (Better Ballot Cincinnati). Members will also discuss and vote on several matters, including possible Association endorsement of selected ballot issues and 2008-2009 Member Dues.
